Position Title:    Child Welfare Supervisor

 Reports to:  Child Welfare Director                                

 Direct Supervision: Yes                                    

Position Summary:  The purpose of this position is to provide supervision to an assigned team of Case Managers and to ensure that case managers are providing quality services to clients and families that are in foster care.

 

Job Functions (Task/Responsibilities):

  • Provide weekly documented supervision and consultation to assigned Case Managers.
  • Participate in Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) case reviews, court, staffing and home visits when needed.
  • Review and monitor all reports, case reviews, expense vouchers, correspondence, progress notes and other essential paperwork for approval.
  • Keep immediate supervisor abreast of service delivery and any issues or concerns.
  • Maintain, as needed, records for quality assurance and submits program specific tracking reports as required.
  • Assist Case Managers with paperwork necessary to open, close or transfer a case.
  • Provide orientation and on-going training for assigned staff in accordance with program requirements.
  • Carry a pager while being available when needed for crisis or regular job responsibilities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, agency and DCFS policies and procedures, including meeting required permanency outcomes.
  • Complete all Core Curriculum training(s) required for this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises Case Managers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field and two to four years related experience required.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Current driver's license

Current auto insurance

Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle as needed.

Successful completion and passing score on the DCFS Licensure Exam

Successful completion and passing score on the Child Endangered Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) certification

Required education:
