We are looking for compassionate, committed and conscientious individuals who will actively seek to mobilize its mission statement, which is "instilling hope by creating the right balance of resources and care to foster and equip healthy productive children & families."  FamilyCore is a private, non-profit, nationally accredited social service agency that has served the Tri-County area since 1900.  We are committed to helping individuals and families strengthen their lives through a variety of counseling, child welfare, family preservation and preventative education services.  We offer the best in quality, confidentiality, and expertise.

FamilyCore employs over 80 individuals in a tight-knit work community that work with schools, the court system and other social service agencies to connect counseling, intervention, preventative education and other support services with those who have a need. FamilyCore takes a holistic approach in its continuum of care, often providing boosts of support to multiple generations. The end goal is to maintain the integrity of family, however it may be defined.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work required.
  • Five to seven years of service in Child Welfare, preferably relative, regular or specialized foster care.  Management experience involving multiple staff in several locations that has been characterized by staff development and stability. 
  • A demonstrated ability to plan, budget, organize and communicate in a management capacity.
  • Assures clients receive high quality services and that the treatment environment functions in accordance with standards of best practice and full compliance with standards of Council on Accreditation (COA).
  • Assures that the financial budget is met.
  • Ensures promotion of the Agency services through participation in, local funding sources including United Ways, School Districts, Probation and general relationships with DCFS and other funding entities.
  • Ensures contract compliance and utilization.
  • Assures the development and maintenance of procedures and distribution of quality documentation that complies with the requirements of accreditation, licensing and contracts.
  • Identifies and develops new community resources in support of the Agency's operation as well as program expansion.
  • Provides for the oversight interviewing for new hires, appropriate supervision, evaluation, motivation, training, informed and managed in a way that guarantees an effective provision of services at all locations.
  • Ensures that Agency management are kept informed on a timely basis of critical issues, trends and changing service needs.

 KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY 

  • Has a commitment to the mission of the Agency as an integral function of the communities.
  • Has a passion for supporting programs through both providing for, as well as implementing, new services.
  • Has a commitment to the importance of children being cared for and treated through a variety of foster care settings and in home services.
  • Demonstrates a broad variety of management skills in all facets of running successful social service programs.
  • Displays leadership in conducting him/herself in accomplishing the responsibilities of a position.
  • Ability to hire, develop and supervise staff in a multi-office setting that establishes a team environment within the context of the Agency mission and administration.
  • Ability to work in an environment characterized by change and a need to be responsive.
  • Effectively listen to and clearly communicate with a wide variety of cultures, organizations and positions.
  • Ability to set priorities and use time effectively.
  • Ability to build productive working relationship with Agency management.
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of Agency services, policies and procedures.
  • Possesses effective communication skills.
  • Has an excellent knowledge of clinical programs.
  • Has an understanding of the Agency's mission and how all programs are integrated into the overall objectives of FamilyCore.
  • Has an excellent knowledge of Child Welfare, Foster Care and Home Based programs in Illinois.
  • Has an understanding of the Agency's mission and how Foster Care and Home Based programs are integrated into the overall objectives of FamilyCore.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Current driver's license.

Current auto insurance.

Ability to transport clients in personal vehicle as needed.

Must pass background check.

Successful completion and passing score on the DCFS Licensure Exam.

Successful completion and passing score on the Child Endangered Risk Assessment Protocol (CERAP) certification.
